Kabuki Syndrome Fundraising Gala Raises Over $639,000

Kabuki Syndrome Foundation, fundraising gala for treatments, Quest for a Cure, table setting

In an inspiring display of support, the second Quest for a Cure fundraising gala for Kabuki syndrome unfolded in Los Angeles on October 23, 2024.

The Kabuki Syndrome Foundation and local hosts welcomed 200 guests at The Walt Disney Concert Hall on what was also Kabuki Syndrome Awareness Day. The evening’s blend of silent and live auctions, a paddle raise, family stories, and live entertainment galvanized support for finding treatments for Kabuki syndrome.

The generous contributions of a diverse range of sponsors and donors were crucial in reaching the impressive milestone of over $639,000 raised for Kabuki Syndrome research! The gala highlighted the power of collective action, proving that remarkable milestones are possible when our community comes together.

Dr. Simpson, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Honored

At the event, Dr. Brittany Simpson was honored for her ongoing and significant contributions to Kabuki syndrome research. Her commitment to patient-centered research and robust data collection have been pivotal in advancing research toward impactful treatments and clinical trials designed for and by people with Kabuki syndrome.

New Network: UCLA and KSF to Collaborate

The KSF team also delivered a special lecture on Kabuki syndrome at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) while in the area. KSF leaders met with key researchers and clinicians at UCLA, many of whom also attended the gala. Together, we explored new collaborations that will benefit families across California.

The success of this Quest not only increased financial resources for research, but also raised awareness of this rare disease with new supporters, on individual and institutional levels. While we direct these new funds to high priority research initiatives, KSF is also building new networks that bring our global community closer to treatments.
